Heather Hale

SENCo and Teacher of English – Eden Boys’ School, Preston

I am a SENCo as well as a Teacher of English in the North West of England. My values are founded on developing positive and strong student-teacher relationships; allowing students to learn in an environment that develops self-motivation and confidence in their ability to succeed. Fundamental to this development is the delivery of well-planned and productive lessons which are designed to ensure that the students make progress both within the lesson and over time. As a classroom practitioner I have maintained the equivalent of ‘Outstanding’ lesson grading during various internal and external monitoring cycles including work scrutinies, lesson observations and behaviour walks. This is due to the consistent standards I both demonstrate and expect in the classroom.

As part of the extended leadership team I possess a strong drive for excellence in everything that I do, ensuring that our students are provided with the highest quality of support and challenge. I believe that leading from the front is crucial in developing the collaboration and dedication needed to guide students to the success they deserve.
